I am still unable to access Caribs site. I did recieve an email from them saying this is not a result of system or server failure but because their IP was under attack. Anyone else get this email? What the heck does under attack mean? Is anyone actually getting through to their site yet and how the heck are you doing it?

It's very common, painfully simple(No-I won't give details), and very tough to stop.

The jist of the story is that their circuit\server\NIC is being overloaded with malicious traffic which prevents legitimate traffic from being able to connect.

BTW, there are some things being posted which tend to dispute this as the cause of their downtime....but I can't say anything for certain.

what reason can there be that i can't access caribs site when others seem to be getting on? I have had no trouble getting on in the past and im using the same bookmark as usual. Does it matter what State im trying to log on from? Just seems strange some are getting on and others cant.

some of the proxy's won't work cause they have the site blocked but here is the one i used, 203.113.34.239 port 80, now go to internet options, click connections tab, then settings, check the proxy server box and paste that ip address in the address box and type in 80 in the port box then click ok

Thanks josmith!
Followed your instructions and was able to get on. Why are they blocking addresses, any idea? Thanks again!

Bri, if they are blocking-it may very well be an attempt to block the ip('s) that were creating the DOS attack (by blocking everyone attached at the time).

Not sure if the DOS attack story is true, but if so, that would explain the IP blocking.

TTinCO,
So if i happened to be connected to their site at the time of the attack i am now being blocked from entering? Would this blocking be permanent or until they find the source of the attack? Thanks for the information.

There's a whole lotta assumptions here, but if this is the case, it would most certainly only be temporary.

no prob man, i was getting ticked off that some people were able to get on and thought i'd give that a shot, i still don't have any idea why certain ip's aren't working it must have something to do with what region we're located in, i have a personal and work isp i use and neither of them work, if they don't get that corrected any time soon i'll be pulling my money out
